This was a fascinating book. It chronicles the experience of a journalist investigating the concepts of memory palaces, memory athletes, and his own journey to see if these seemingly superhuman powers were indeed within the reach of the average person.
You’ll learn about the ancient roots of the memory palace technique, which underlies the strategy for most world champion memory athletes. You’ll also learn about the specific techniques for memorizing numbers, faces, and words. Overall, you’ll feel amped up and excited to try these techniques yourself.
All in all a very entertaining read with actionable useful advice on improving your own memory skills. I would highly recommend this book. In an upcoming post I’ll describe my experiences trying to implement some of these memory techniques.
